NANA ADDO WINS NPP PRIMARIES AGAIN

On Saturday 18th of October 2014,NPP delegates went to the polls to elect their 2016 presidential candidate.The hyped election was slated among three candidates:-Nana Addo Dankwa ,Hon. Francis Addai-Nimoh and Alan Kyerematen.

At the end of the ballot,Nana Addo Dankwa came out with a landslide victory over his compatriots. According to official results, Nana Akufo-Addo secured 117, 413 representing 94.35% of total valid votes cast as against his closest rival Alan Kyerematen, who polled 5,908 representing 4.75% of valid votes and Hon. Addai-Nimoh walking away with 1,108 representing 0.91% of total valid votes cast.

The election was initially contested among seven candidates  at a super delegates’ congress in August to reduce the number to five according to the NPP Party's Constitution.

After Saturday's election Amadu Sulley lead the EC to announce and declare the winner said the EC was grateful for the confidence reposed in the commission to organize the elections making it one of the most peaceful.

One chapter of campaigning is closed,another begins sooner or later towards the national election in 2016.
